With one of my favorite seasons fast approaching, I thought it to be a great time to discuss outdoor lights. Nothing gives off an ambiance like a warm glow while you are sipping your favorite drink on the patio in the cool night air. It is just the coziest feeling and oh so relaxing. So, pull up your most comfy outdoor chair and let’s check out our outdoor light options.
String Lights
For the most bang for your buck, string lights are my go-to. It will require some installation depending on your space. We have a fairly large backyard for a neighborhood so it was a weekend project for us, but you can string them in a small courtyard or even a balcony. These lights are my go-to and absolute favorite. They just give off this calming and romantic feeling. You have to trust me on this one.
Wall Sconces
Most people don’t think of updating or adding outdoor sconces. They tend to be forgotten about and are last to be revamped. This can elevate your curb appeal and make your house more inviting. They can also be used in small areas like patio or courtyard where there is not a lot of options for lights. If you are handy with small electrical projects, this is a quick and affordable way to give life to an area.
Solar Lights
Now I won’t sit here and go on and on about the environmental and economic benefits of solar. We already know. The thing I like about solar though, there is no wiring involved. Easy, peasy. You can do anything from solar string lights to tabletop lanterns, toyard lights that look like rocks or fireflies. These days you have more options than you need.
Pathway Lights
If you are clumsy like me, it never hurts to have pathway lights, ESPECIALLY on stairs. Even if the of addition of these lights are purely for safety, they make your simple pathway chic and elegant, or even add a little flare. What’s even greater is, the instillation is so easy, you can swap them out for holiday themed pathway lights.
The moral of the story is that you don’t have to spend tons of money to add light to your night life. Upgrading or adding some lights around the house can give it a whole new feeling. I can honestly say that since we hung our string lights, we definitely utilized our back yard more after hours. It’s just a warm and inviting place everyone wants to be.
